Introduction
The objective of the IEEE-IES Student and Young Professional Competition 2021 is to promote standards developed by the Technical Committee on Industrial Informatics and sponsored by the Technical Committee on Standards, boost student branch chapter activities and attract student membership with the IEEE-IES.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the competition will be held online. This competition will focus on achieving industrial application development based on the industrial cloud platform, edge computing, and data management. Student and Young Professional IES members are encouraged to submit their own project achievements and industrial Apps.
Information and Important Dates
Eligibility
Any IEEE-IES student member, graduate member, or member is eligible for participating in the competition.
Prize Items
The prize will be given with a certificate and award money with three categories:
- First Prize – 1500 USD + Certificate
- Second Prize – 1000 USD + Certificate
- Third Prize – 500 USD + Certificate
Track Setup
Track 1: Research Project Presentation
Individual participates should submit a 5-minutes recorded video for your research projects. The topic must be in the scope of the Industrial Electronics Society.
Track 2: Developing an Industrial Application
A group of members (maximum 3) develop a Preventative Maintenance App based on Data Analysis. Task 2 description and data set are sent out via emails. To get the task and dataset, please register your team by sending details to William Dai (w.dai@ieee.org). There is no limitation on programming language and result should be able to display on a computer.

- October 19, 2021. Submission Due for track 2
- October 22, 2021. Announcement of winners

Submit your work
Please send your video(Track 1) or application(Track 2) via shared folder, link or email to William Dai (w.dai@ieee.org) by October 13, 2021 for track 1 and October 19, 2021 for track 2.
